CMS Pages – User Training Guide
This page explains how administrators use the Content Management System (CMS) – Pages screen to manage website content pages.
Purpose of the Pages Screen
The Pages screen is the central place where admins can:
- View all existing content pages
- Create new pages
- Edit existing pages
- Delete pages (soft delete)
- Restore recently deleted pages
Each page represents a publicly accessible content page on the website.
How to Access This Page
- Navigate to Admin → CMS → Pages
- The Pages table will load automatically
Breadcrumbs at the top show your current location and allow easy navigation back to the CMS section.
Page Layout Overview
The page consists of the following areas:
- Header – Page title and breadcrumbs
- Actions Bar – Search, add, restore, and refresh controls
- Pages Table – List of all content pages
- Modals – Create Page and Restore Page dialogs
Actions Bar
Search Pages
- Use the Search page… field to quickly find pages by title
- Results update automatically as you type
Add New Page
- Click the Plus (+) icon to create a new page
- Opens the Add Page modal
- Use this to create brand new content pages
Restore Deleted Pages
- Click the Trash icon to open the Restore Pages modal
- Displays pages that were previously deleted
- Allows restoring pages back to the active list
Refresh Pages
- Click the Refresh button to reload the page list
- Useful after creating, deleting, or restoring pages
Pages Table
The table displays all available pages with the following columns:
Title
- Displays the page title
- Represents the main heading of the page content
Slug
- Shows the page URL path
- Example:
/about-us - Used to generate the public-facing page URL
Status
Indicates whether the page is live:
- Published – Page is visible to users
- Draft – Page is not yet published
SEO
Indicates whether SEO data is configured:
- ✔️ Configured – SEO settings exist
- ❌ Not configured – SEO settings are missing
SEO configuration affects search engine visibility.
Actions
Each page includes the following actions:
- Edit (✏️) – Opens the page editor
- Delete (🗑️) – Soft-deletes the page
Deleted pages can be restored later.
Page Actions
Edit Page
- Click the Edit icon to open the page editor
- Takes you to the CMS editor for that page
- Changes are not visible until published
Delete Page
- Click the Delete icon to remove a page
- The page is not permanently deleted
- Deleted pages appear in the Restore Pages modal
Recently Deleted Pages
- Accessed via the Trash icon
- Shows a list of deleted pages
- Allows restoring pages back to the main list
Loading & Error States
Loading Pages
- A loading spinner is shown while pages are fetched
Error Loading Pages
- An error message is displayed if pages fail to load
- Use the Refresh button to retry
Empty State
If no pages exist:
- A friendly empty state is displayed
- Includes a Create First Page button
- Clicking this opens the Add Page modal
Best Practices
- Use clear, descriptive page titles
- Keep slugs short and SEO-friendly
- Ensure pages are published when ready
- Regularly review draft pages
- Avoid deleting pages unless necessary
